Why Voting in this Election is Important
Why should you vote in this election? Political operators often just assume that people know why they should vote. It’s so obvious, isn’t it? Not necessarily.
In this ad we wanted to make clear what was at stake in the election, giving explicit examples of some popular issues that would be affected by the candidates who get elected into office.
GOTV Jingle
My explicit goal for this Get Out The Vote (GOTV) ad was not to look like a political ad and to get stuck in people’s heads. I wrote and produced this spot, hiring a composer and singers to make the jingle.
I gave created direction to the animators and challenged them to use this video as an opportunity to develop their 3D animation skills.
Voting by Mail
During the pandemic rules for voting we changing every week. It was important that we educate our client’s members about all the different ways they could vote and what the deadlines were.
Vote Early Animation
This fun animated ad was inspired by School House Rock’s “I’m Just a Bill”. I didn’t want this ad to look political. It was also an opportunity to challenge the creative team and help the learn new skills such as rigging animated characters.
Content-wise we wanted to make sure voters knew how they could vote and what the deadlines were.
Ballot Chase
This ad used social pressure tactics to help turn out the vote. Research shows that voting is a social behavior. We wanted to show that everyone else was voting, and you shouldn’t get left out.
In this ad campaign we targeted people who had requested a ballot, but had not yet mailed it back.
