Election Persuasion

Presidential Election

Our target audience for this 2020 election ad was undecided and independent women. We conducted extensive focus groups to identify pro-immigrant, unifying messaging that would inoculate voters from Donald Trump’s xenophobic rhetoric.

Georgia U.S. Senate Election

For this ad I used footage from one of David Perdue’s campaign rallies where he pandered to the crowd by making fun of Vice-Presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ name. We targeted moderate Republican and independent voters.

Montana Gubernatorial Election

How do you stick out when you target audience has been bombarded with tens of millions of dollars worth of ads? When TV stations are not accepting political ads because they don’t have enough air time to show them all?

I decided to do something a little different: commission a composer and opera singers to make a short song about Montana gubernatorial candidate Greg Gianforte’s proposed sales tax.

Presidential Election

This positive ad was developed based on focus groups and research aimed at inoculating voters susceptible to Donald Trump’s xenophobic rhetoric.

Louisiana Gubernatorial Election

This ad for the Louisiana Gubernatorial election associated Eddie Rispone, the Republican candidate, with Bobby Jindal, the deeply unpopular former governor. Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards went on to win re-election in a deeply conservative state.

Nevada Gubernatorial Election

This simple, yet effective, ad communicated that Adam Laxalt was beholden to his rich donors and not working Nevadans. It helped hammer home the message that Laxalt was out of touch.

This tongue-in-cheek ad for streaming audio services educates voters about Laxalt’s views on the minimum wage and explains how his economic policies would “Take Nevada Backwards”

Montana Gubernatorial Election

How do you film a political ad during a pandemic? I worked with an actor to record this humorous ad using a local Montana saying to educate voters about Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Gianforte’s proposed sales tax.

Montana Gubernatorial Election

Montana gubernatorial candidate Greg Gianforte doesn’t think retirement is “biblical.” I used an actual recording of Gianforte to create a Life of Brian inspired ad, educating retired Montanans about how he thinks they are lazy.
